DryMax Shaft Seal

A water-lubricated axial stern tube seal designed, built and tested by Duramax Marine in the USA for propeller shafts from 3.5" to 36" diameter.

Nitrile sealing ring runs against a reversible, re-machinable DuraChrome mating ring.

Inflatable air seal lets the crew change seal rings at sea.

Heavy-duty cast bronze housing built to last the life of the vessel.

Diseño

Rotating nitrile seal ring forms a hydrodynamic seal against the polished DuraChrome mating ring; a spare ring is stored on the shaft.

New construction or retrofit; an adapter plate can mate the seal to the existing stern tube flange.

Seal components can be renewed at sea with seawater held back by the inflatable air seal.

ABS type approval, Lloyd's Register certificate and Vietnam Register type approval.
